Banana in smell, but otherwise just a nice stout
Thomas Creek's Banana Split Chocolate Stout poured out of the bottle exceptionally dark with a head which matched the dingy orange color of the label.
The chocolate and banana are pretty balanced in the smell.
I had a harder time finding the banana in the taste, though. I get dark chocolate and a mild roast coffee flavor, but nothing I can identify as banana.
This is a nice stout, but the banana aspect was way oversold for me. Had it just been called a stout and a mention of banana in the description and not name, I'd give this 4 beers overall.
