Description:
The Commodore came out of our search for a medium-bodied American Stout. The recipe began at our R&D pilot brewery, but quickly became a favorite of our crew. Strong flavors of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate balance with light citrusy hop aromas, highlighted by a crisp, bitter finish. One sip of this gold medal-winning stout will have you ready to take command of your own fleet. (Description provided by company)

Malt Bitterness Built Up
I started off liking The Commodore. It looked very pretty in the glass; nearly black with a tan cap. When I took a sniff, I couldn't smell much. I guess that is a light nutty aroma, but I don't smell much from this glass sitting out for 5 minutes. The taste was fairly standard coffee bitterness. It was nice. Was. Because with each drink I took from the glass, the bitterness kept building up stronger and stronger. I just had to stop halfway thru.
