Comments
Cucumber in a beer?
Pours a clear pale golden yellow with a full bright white and bubbly head.
A very light aroma, with pale malt, a light and herbal hop aroma, and a very subtle cucumber brightness.
Very crisp and refreshing, with a nice bready pale malt and a little herbal and floral Noble hop flavors and quite low bitterness. The cucumber, although more obvious than in the nose, is still subtle, and blends in nicely with the hop flavors. It is fairly unobtrusive, and works to help increase the refreshing quality of the beer.
A medium light body and moderately high carbonation.
Many fruit of vegetable beers can seem a little haphazard or unbalanced, but I think that the Flat12 Cucumber Kölsch strikes a nice balance between being unexpected, innovative, and tasty.
