A good American beer
Goose Island Honker's Ale pours a clear amber color with about a half-finger's worth of a nicely creamy head, which dissipates fairly quickly. Primarily smells of a crisp malt with a subtle undertone of hops.
The maltiness is also the predominate taste, with a hint of hoppy bitterness toward the finish. This hops flavor lingers on as a subtle aftertaste, although not overly distracting. Medium body in the mouth with a moderate amount of carbonation.
An easy-drinking beer.
