Rogue makes an earthy chocolate stout
Pitch black beer with single finger tan head which slooooooooooowly shrank but never vanished. Pretty web-like lacking stuck around. Checks every box on how a stout should look like.
Smells of dark roast, oats, and nuts. This Rogue smells more earthy than coffee.
Taste is quite bitter with roasted malt and earthy hops. I can also taste a bit of licorice.
Mouthfeel is thick with minimal carbonation.
I agree that Rogue's Chocolate Stout is quite good, but it just isn't up my alley. The hops' earthy bitterness overruns the sweet malt which I enjoy most about a stout.
