5 years of deliciousness packed into a bomber
Straight to Ale's Fifth Anniversary Belgian Style Quad poured out of the bomber a dark caramel with a beige film. The film stayed well and would lace the glass when sipping.
I get a lot of cherries, chocolate, and brandy when I sniff. It is a dark, rich smell like the most divine liquored fudge.
Taste is not as sweet as the smell. Caramelized sugar blends nicely with raisin on the tongue.
Remember my mention of fudge. This is like the fudge that fills you up after eating a tiny cubic inch. This full bodied quad is a sipping delight.
StA's Fifth Anniversary is a standout from their Hellfire Quad because of how dense the smell and flavor are in this brew. I hope this is a recipe that makes an annual anniversary return. I also wouldn't protest if they barreled some for distribution later.
Not a dark beer drinker but
Not a dark beer drinker but was pleasantly surprised. Taste was awesome!
