This style of beer has a little something for everyone. Although it stays true to its Belgian roots with a signature fruity sweetness that lingers on the tongue, there’s still a hint of bitterness which mimics the common characteristic of an IPA. It’s light in body and has a slight citrus flavor, but don’t let its effervescent appearance fool you- this one packs an extra terrestrial punch as one of our higher gravity beers, landing in at 8.4% ABV. It’s not rocket science- you do that math…that means Terrestri-Ale taste times 3. So you’d better have E.T. phone home for your designated driver if you plan on having more than one of these! Very good tripel from a small brewer
Bought a glass at Rocket Republic's tap room.
TerrestriAle Belgian Tripel was a hazy corn color in the tulip glass. The finger-thick head evaporated over a few minutes, leaving thick lacing behind.
The smell is pure Belgian sweetness: sugars, light fruits dominate.
I found the taste to be basically the same as the smell, but with a bit of grassiness, too.
Felt medium bodied and smooth going down. There was a nice richness about it.
Definitely will become a favorite from Rocket Republic and I look forward to being able to buy it in a bottle at some point.
A tripel for lovers of dry white wine
Terrestri-Ale Tripel is a light gold in the glass with hardly any head. There is a very thin white ring. Smell is bright, light fruits and a bit of sugar. Taste is similar with a Chardonnay-like finish. This is quite a delight with a dryness which separates it from many other American tripels.
