Straight to Ale Fresh Hop Doppelsticke
Wet hopped beer.
Literally meaning "old beer", the Altbier originated in Düsseldorf, Germany and is similar in style to the Kolsch style from Cologne (Köln in German). This style is generally brewed with warm-fermenting ale yeast and then cold conditioned for a longer-than-normal time (usually several weeks).
Ranging in color from an amber to copper, the pale and roasted malts give toffee and caramel notes, while the long fermenting brings out fruity esters balanced by moderate earthy and herbal hop flavor and bitterness.
Best served cool, 46-54 degrees, and in a pint or stange glass.
