In ancient Greece, “showing the fig” was a vulgar hand gesture, and Sykophantes means “one who shows the fig”. Earthy and full of dark fruit flavor from hundreds of pounds of figs and dark candy syrup, but with a sourness that cuts the gentle sweetness, Sykophantes is our fall beer.
The combination of rich, earthy sweetness and sourness in Sykophantes make it a great pairing for rich, spiced foods like a Moroccan tagine or Hungarian goulash. (Description provided by company)

I'll show you the fig!
Orpheus Brewing Sykophantes pours a muddy reddish brown with very little carbonation. It has a sweet brown sugar nose with notes of berries. The flavor is full of sweet dark fruits on the front end, with a vinegar sourness in the finish. The balance between those two poles makes this beer a complex journey, but one that's well worth it.
